KENNETH E. UNITAS

KENNETH E. UNITAS is a graduate of Saint Francis University, Loretto, Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Criminal Justice. He is retired from the Anne Arundel County Police Force. While serving on the force, he was awarded two Purple Hearts, two Silver Stars, two Departmental Commendation Ribbons, a Community Service Commendation Ribbon and a Unit Citation Ribbon. He holds a United States D.O.D. Defense Security Service “TOP SECRET” clearance.


While a member of the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commission, he authored the entry-level police curriculum for the Maryland Law Enforcement Training Academy. He is a certified Fire and Explosives Investigator/Instructor, a U.S. Department of Justice Bombing Crime Scene Investigator, has experience in Explosive Ordinance recognition and containment from the Maryland State Police, has attended the Delaware State Police Academy’s Domestic Terrorism Investigator School, has Homicide Investigator Certification from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Fire & Arson Investigator Certification from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and is a Certified Criminal Investigator from the Maryland State Police Academy. He is a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators, National Association of Fire Investigator, International Society of Fire Service Instructors and is Chairman of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy Conference.
